It was the first time I would be going to a jungle. We were supposed to go the world's largest jungle, the African Jungle. I was about to see some of the wild and dangerous animals on the Earth. Excitement and nervousness was all over me. I was accompanied by my friend Chloe, and her Dad, a proffesional with animals. This wasn't Chloe's Dad's first time in the African Jungle. Things will go easier due to this. We were told we have to drive through in a vehicle where animals will be on the loose. This will help us take a closer look. We were driving through the jungle at nine in the morning, after having breakfast. The vehicle we were on was a jeep without a roof. We didn't bring any food with us, as it might attract, or the animals might take our food. As we were driving through the jungle, it was green with wild trees and bushes. Lots of animals were in sight. There were different kinds, big, small, fierce and tame ones. I took pictures, but I was careful not to use the flash. Using the flash might damage the eyesight of some animals. I saw a medium-sized cat as well, thought it was called the Wild Cat. After a while, we stopped for a five minute break. The weather was warm and sunny. After five minutes, we hopped into the green jeep. Just as we were about to go, we saw a long-legged animal with dark black spots all over. I recognized it as the cheetah. I quickly took a picture of it. I was surprised to know that the cheetah can reach the speed of 60 to 70 miles (97 to 113 KM) an hour over short distance. But it usually chases its prey half that speed. Chloe's Dad said that the cheetahs have great eyesight. A little far from the cheetah, there was a wild boar. The cheetah started to snigg the air, and we could see that it was looking in the direction where the boar was. The cheetah moved on its four legs, slowly and as quiet as possible. As it got closer to the boar, the boar saw the cheetah and it chased the boar. Finally it caught the boar by its neck. It was the first time I saw an animal catch its prey. Excitement crept into my stomach. When dusk came, we saw a Hyena which looked more like a cat. We stopped to take a closer look at it in the jeep. It was under a tree gazing at a bird. I realized that it was trying to catch the bird. I wondered how it would catch the bird which was so high up from the ground. All of a sudden the Hyena jumped up and caught the bird with its paws. It was amazing how high it jumped. Just as it was about to eat the bird, another hyena came and fought to take the bird away from it. Finally, with a while of struggle the first hyena got the bird and ate it up. In a while the Sun left us with darkness all over. We were still gazing at the Hyena. With darkness the colour of its eye changed to blue, pink and black. I was mesmerized. Time came for us to leave the wonderful sight and experience. I had a great and mind blowing experience. Lives of animals are wonderful. It is a gift from nature to the world. We have to keep this gift with loyalty and care.
